The AHA football team started their season winning 34-31 over Minneapolis North, starting their season 1-0. Last week, they took on their closest rivals, the 0-1 Richfield Spartans in the Battle of the Tracks. AHA started off the game with a five yard rushing touchdown. Later in the quarter, the Stars scored a passing touchdown, making the score 14-0 after the first quarter. In the second quarter, AHA quickly intercepted a pass and went down the field to score a touchdown. The Stars then scored three more rushing touchdowns and ended the second quarter with an interception, finishing the first half 42-0 in favor of the Stars. In the third quarter, the team had a long rushing touchdown and another interception, making the score 49-0. The Spartans then answered with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but that was not enough to beat the Stars. The final score of the game was 49-14, with AHA improving 2-0 and the Spartans decreasing 0-2.
