Two weeks ago, AHA Stars football beat the Richfield Spartans 49-14 in the Battle of the Tracks, improving AHA’s record to 2-0. Last Friday, they took on the 2-0 Becker Bulldogs. In the first half, defense was huge. AHA stopped Becker twice on fourth downs and Becker stopped AHA once on a fourth down, ending the first quarter 0-0. In the second quarter, the Bulldogs quickly intercepted an AHA pass, which fortunately did not lead to a touchdown. The first half also ended 0-0. The third quarter was all Becker. The Bulldogs quickly stormed down the field and scored a passing touchdown. On the next drive, Becker intercepted a second AHA pass, this time leading to a rushing touchdown, making the score 14-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. In the fourth quarter, the Stars stopped the Bulldogs twice on fourth downs, giving the Stars hope, but the Bulldogs intercepted yet another pass on AHA’s last drive. The game ended 14-0 in favor of the Bulldogs. The AHA Stars fell to 2-1 while the Becker Bulldogs improved to 3-0.
