Three AHA hockey players were selected for the USHL draft this year: juniors Lincoln Ayers Assad and Cole Cheeseman, as well as sophomore Teddy Lechner. Center Ayers Assad was selected by Lincoln in round five. Lechner, who plays right defense, was also selected in round five by Muskegon. Finally, center Cheeseman was selected by Lincoln in the ninth round.
The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the Tier I junior ice hockey league in the United States, created by USA Hockey. According to flohockey.tv, it is split up into 16 teams spread across the Midwest and Great Plains areas. The age requirement for this league is between 16 and 20 years old, and the players are not allowed to make a profit from their participation. The 2025 USHL draft took place on May fifth and sixth and has two phases: phase I and phase II. Phase I consists of 15 rounds, while phase II consists of as many rounds as needed for each team to achieve a 50 player roster.
