How We Can Help Ukraine

How We Can Help Ukraine

With the conflict in Ukraine escalating, it seems as though the news never ends. Information filters in every minute and with the rapid and unpredictable nature of the conflict, it seems almost too trivial to fully understand what is happening and what the bigger picture is. With the recent news that Russia’s first phase of attack has terminated, it feels as though this conflict may elongate, with the ramifications likely to worsen.

In spite of the daunting scale of this now globally involved and ever-changing issue, there are still ways in which students at the Academy of Holy Angels can contribute to aiding the ailments of this metamorphosing catastrophe. Similar to the CMT donation drive that just wrapped up, making donations is an incredibly influential way in which involved students can help with this conflict. With the whole world watching, there are thankfully many high-profile charities and organizations that have redirected their attention to the conflict in Ukraine. The following are only a few of the many charities (with URLs to visit at the bottom of the article) that students can donate to as a means of helping the situation.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an organization dedicated to the support of children across the globe in need of vital resources and help that they cannot receive. With impressionable children at the front lines, UNICEF is trucking in education supplies, sanitized water, health and hygiene supplies, and mobile child protection teams that provide psychosocial care for children that have been traumatized by the war. Some other useful organizations include the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), the International Medical Corps, and Voices of Children.
