Girls+Tennis+Team+Takes+on+New+Confidence

The AHA Girls Tennis team had a great season. The varsity team went undefeated in regular season play, with a record of 14-0. Last week, the girls played in the 6AA section tournament against Minneapolis Southwest and Burnsville. The girls won 4–3 against Southwest, but lost 2-5 to Burnsville, with Alaina DeCrans ‘24 and Shelby Schnell ‘26 winning their respective matches against Burnsville. The girls received the 5th seed out of 18 in the section tournament, the highest seed the girls team has received in a very long time. Sam Goedde ‘25 said,  “It was a great season; we started off strong and ended even stronger.” Goedde noted that her favorite part of the season was the annual Duluth trip. Goedde will be playing in the individual section 6AA tennis tournament on Tuesday, October 11th at Baseline Tennis Center. She says that she hopes to make it past the first round of the section match. Marissa Jung ‘25 said her favorite part of the season was winning the conference; “It was really special because the girls team had not won in a long time. We also got super cool sweatshirts from the team parents.” Jung is quite excited for next season, as she thinks the team will be even stronger. Congrats on the season, AHA Girls Tennis Team, and good luck to those competing at individual sections this week!
