Football

AHA Football took a tough 64-14 loss against a well-rounded Waconia Wildcats team. This was their last game of the regular season. They finished the season with a 5-3 record and hold the #1 seed in their section. They will take on Minneapolis South this Saturday in the Stardome at 1pm. Make sure to come out and support our STARS!

Girls Soccer

We have our first official state participants of the 2022 fall sports season in AHA girls soccer! Congratulations to these girls, and the hard work they put in to get this far. Now, you may be wondering how they got to this point. These girls put on a clinic, going 17-2 and scoring 52 goals as a team during the regular season. They took care of crosstown rival Richfield and ran through Simley to get to the Section 3AA Championship game. They took on Two Rivers and won 3-0 thanks to some goals from Audrey Garton ‘24, Elizabeth Mejia Quintanilla ‘25, and Madden Smith ‘23. We now look forward to some state soccer once again! Our girls begin state play this Tuesday at 5:30pm against unranked Zimmerman at White Bear Lake High School. If they win, the girls go back to U.S. Bank Stadium, so make sure to come out and support our girls Tuesday night!

Volleyball

AHA volleyball finished up their 2022 regular season last week on a relatively low note, losing to Southwest Christian (#5 in class 2A). The girls finished up the 2022 season with 22 wins and 4 losses to go along with 608 digs, 563 kills, and 65 blocks. They were also able to do well in a couple of weekend tournaments throughout the season. Hopefully their last game won’t hinder their success this Wednesday as the girls take on Mound Westonka in this section 6AAA quarterfinal matchup at the AHA gym at 7pm.

Cross Country

Big week for AHA cross country as they prepare for sections and possibly state. These runners come off of a very successful week with the girls ending in 3rd place at the conference championships and the boys winning conference after an extremely close tiebreaker with St. Anthony Village. All their hard work comes to the test this Thursday as they compete in the section 3AA championships at Valleywood Golf Course. I can’t necessarily encourage you to miss class for this, but what I can do is have you all send your love and support to our STARS!

Girls Swim & Dive

The Girls swim & dive team is coming off of a win against Fridley during their last home meet of the season. It was also their senior night. They now prepare for their last meet of the regular season this Monday at 5:30pm at Columbia Heights High School Pool.
