Football
After a tough loss to end the regular season, the football team bounced back with a blowout win of their own against Minneapolis South on Saturday, winning 56-0. This win sends the team to the Section 5AAAA Final, where they will play arch-rivals Benilde-St. Margaret’s this Friday. Be there to support the team as they push for state!
Girls Soccer
AHA has its first state competitors of the year! After a dominant 5-0 win against Zimmerman, the girls are heading to U.S. Bank Stadium. The team plays Mankato East at 2:30 PM on Wednesday in the Class AA Semifinal, and school is out early, so there’s no excuse not to go! If the girls win, they will play at U.S. Bank Stadium again on Friday.
Volleyball
After a great season, AHA Volleyball came up short against a very tough Benilde-St. Margaret’s team in the Section 6AAA Semi-final. The game went five sets, with the Stars unfortunately losing 3-2. Although this was a tough loss to a rival, this was a very successful season for the team, as they went 23-5 overall.
Cross Country
AHA cross country competed in the Section 3AA Championships last Thursday. The girls had one of their best team meets of the season, finishing 6th out of the 13 teams participating, and the boys were very competitive, finishing 4th out of the 13 teams competing. In addition to the boys high placing in sections this year, Colin Kaster ‘23 placed high enough individually to qualify for the cross country state meet. He’s the first AHA boy to make it to state since 2002, so Congratulations Colin! Also, great job to all the students who ran cross country this season!
Girls Swim & Dive
Girls swim & dive has been busy getting ready for some important meets. Their JV swimmers just finished up their season last week at the JV Championships swim meet. They were able to pull multiple heat wins. Varsity is preparing for sections, which begin in two weeks. As these swimmers train, give them some words of encouragement in the halls.
