Encore! The Holy Angels Theater Department has put together a truly spectacular show. The Fall Play was put on by Fine Arts teacher and Artistic Director, Mr. Gregg Sawyer. The show, originally penned by Ken Ludwig in 2012, centers around the character William Gillette, a real-life actor who played the stage version of Sherlock Holmes about 1,300 times. The story details a shocking murder mystery told through the lens of an absurd comedy. It is a witty and intellectually intriguing story, which was more than matched by incredible, charismatic performances by our own students: Thomas Keller, Vivian Alexander, T. Paul Kairuki, Grace Cebulla, Declan Burke, Sylvia Guertin, and Lucy Kamueller. Many viewers noted the incredible chemistry displayed by the actors and actresses, emphasizing the comedic timing and seamless manner in which they played off one another. It was an incredibly daunting task that the set crew, led by scenic director Kurt Gough, was up to. It also marked a special return for former AHA teacher and Lighting Designer Dan Diamond. The show was also an emotional one for the nearly all-senior cast. Overall, the show both met and exceeded expectations by bringing both the audience and crew a truly memorable and personal experience.
