Christmas is around the corner, which means the Christmas basket donation to Universal Family Solutions, which helps families in need around the Twin Cities, is back again after last year’s COVID restrictions. This project is one of the oldest traditions at Holy Angels, dating back to 1931. Every year during the Advent season, each homeroom is given a family and the students provide a variety of gifts of clothes, toys, or essential needs that the family members ask for.
The send-off for the Christmas baskets started with a prayer service filled with music, prayer, and special thanks from our own teacher, Mr. Sawyer. The director of Universal Family Solutions, Inez Grace, who led and organized the tradition of the baskets, also attended the prayer service to thank all the students for donating and participating in putting together the Christmas baskets. Everyone was proud of the total number of gifts that were given to each of the families, making Christmas a little merrier this season.
