You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, AHA’s current theater production, is a fantastic rendition of Charles Schultz’s classic illustrations. Charlie Brown and his crew of friends, including his loyal dog, Snoopy, join the main cast of characters. In the portrayal of Charlie’s day-to-day life, his experiences and encounters are brought to life through cheerful songs and dance numbers. Throughout both the main cast and ensemble, the talents of AHA’s actors and actresses are abundant.
In addition to the individual skill of each cast member, the collective work done by the production designers, supervisors, and directors is praise-worthy. The costumes were full of fun and spirit, with a color palette that immediately catches your eye. The beauty of the set and the flawlessness of the behind-the-scenes workings is a manifestation of the hard work done by the crew. The set created the perfect environment where the actors can be active on stage, moving and transitioning through scenes with grace.
The quick scenes with monologues from just one character, or amusing interactions between a few, held the show at a fast, engaging pace. The one-liners and sarcasm received lots of laughs from the audience, as this production successfully relayed the quick-wits of Schultz’s original comics, and kept onlookers entertained throughout the entire show. Seeing the personality of each character unfold was immensely entertaining, again showcasing how talented each student truly is. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a classic story bound to warm hearts; it’s a great play to watch among friends who are looking for a wholesome story. Be sure to see the final show this Friday, November 18th!
