The AHA girls hockey team has had a successful start to their season. After a victorious home opener against Armstrong Cooper (6-1), the team continued on a six game winning streak where they took down Duluth Marshall, Breck, Minneapolis, Mound Westonka/Southwest Christian, Prior Lake, and Thief River Falls. The team is led by senior captains Isabella Brama and Reagan Loichle, along with junior captains Audrey Garton and Bella Lamere.
The home opener’s success was driven by Garton and Marissa Jung ‘25, who netted 2 goals each, and Lamere and Emilie Anderson ‘24 with one goal each. As of December, Garton leads the team in goals with 8, followed by Loichle with 4, Lamere with 4, Jung with 3, Anya Anderson ‘25 with 3, and E. Anderson with 2. Big congratulations to Lamere with her 100th career point, A. Anderson with her first varsity goal, Calli Holmes ‘25 with her first varsity point, Masyn Mullin ‘25 with her first varsity goal, and Aislin Lacher ‘24 with her first goal of the season. Goalies Eva Bentley ‘24 and Zoe Rimstad ‘25 have collectively made 165 saves out of 179 shots for a 92% save percentage, starting the season off with strong defense. The girls have made a total of 32 goals throughout the season in comparison to their opponents’ collective 14 goals.
The team has proved that whether they are on offense or defense, they will not go down without a fight. Shoutout to student managers Ellory Snook ‘23, Molly Bauer ‘24, Addie VonSee ‘25 and Anna Gotziaman ‘25 for all of their support and hard work on the sidelines and at practices. Congratulations to the entire program on their fantastic start to the season, and good luck to them in the upcoming months.
