This year, the volleyball team had a remarkable season, making it to the section final and beating Benilde -St. Margaret’s (BSM) in the section semifinals. Following the season, seniors Caitlin O’Rourke and Emma Campbell were interviewed about their shared season. Both upperclassmen agreed that the victory against our rival BSM was the highlight of their last season. Both players thought that this year was a very enjoyable season as well. O’Rourke said, “I loved playing volleyball with all my teammates this year! I looked forward to and enjoyed every single practice.”
Many challenging endeavors arose during the season. Campbell thought that preparing for sections was a tough obstacle and O’Rourke said the BSM game was hard to prepare for. The girls had lost to BSM earlier in the season but had a spectacular win against them towards the end of the season. However, the team had no shortage of fans. Many AHA students traveled either to the home courts or all over the Tri Metro to cheer on the varsity team. The volleyball season was very eventful this year with a fulfilling season. The seniors will be very missed by the program but will hopefully look back on their 2021 season with pride at their excellent skills on the court.
