Every year, film and television award season kicks off with the Golden Globes. This year, the Golden Globes debuted a new host, Nikki Glaser. Glaser is known for a variety of things within the entertainment industry: her podcast “The Nikki Glaser Podcast,” her many Netflix comedy specials, roasts, recently hosting a new reality show “FBOY Island,” and her own show, “Welcome Home Nikki Glaser.” According to KCUR, Glaser was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She stepped into the comedy scene when she was still a student at the University of Kansas, in early gigs at the Kansas City Comedy Club. From there, Glaser launched her career and has grown into a fan favorite among the comedy community.
The overall reception from her Golden Globes performance was increasingly more positive than the reviews from last years’ host, Jo Koy. Vogue Magazine even went so far as to claim that “Glaser [made] the 2025 Golden Globes good again.” Glaser took on the Globes with a much more lighthearted and positive spin than Koy. Writing all her own content (a major part of last season’s controversy), Glaser generated excitement and enthusiasm from the crowd and fans as the Globes’ first solo female host.
