Football
Coming into the week, AHA Football was ranked #3 in class 4A, with an undefeated 3-0 record. Unfortunately the team suffered their first loss of the season, 26-33 in a very close away game against Robbinsdale Cooper. Looking forward, the team is back at home this upcoming Friday at 7pm with their Homecoming game against big rivals Benilde-St. Margaret’s. The StarDome will be packed for the Homecoming game, so it’s not one you’ll want to miss!
Boys Soccer
Boys soccer didn’t have the luckiest week because their game against Bloomington Kennedy was postponed due to lightning and their game against Brooklyn Center was canceled. They were able to play on Saturday against Orono, but took a hard 0-4 loss. The team looks to keep their rough week behind them and looks forward to their games during homecoming week. They begin on Tuesday where they play their Senior/Youth Night match against DeLaSalle in the StarDome at 5:30pm. On Thursday, they play Columbia Heights at Columbia Heights at 7pm. And on Super Soccer Saturday, the squad plays Worthington in the StarDome at 7pm. Make sure to come support our seniors this week, and if you have any siblings in grade school, make sure to have them come out for a fun night! Also, Super Soccer Saturday is a blast so bring some friends and enjoy the experience!
Girls Soccer
After their first regular season loss in almost three years last week, girls soccer was back to meeting their incredible regular season expectations: winning all 3 games this week. Despite the loss last week, the girls were still ranked #1 in class 2A heading into this week. Living up to the #1 rank, the team managed to win three close games against Bloomington Kennedy, longtime rivals Visitation, and Simley, in large part due to a goal in each game from forward Elizabeth Mejia ‘25. The 10-1 Stars have another three game week coming up, with the first against DeLaSalle at the StarDome at 7:30pm Tuesday, then an away game against Colombia Heights at 5pm on Thursday, and finally the team plays Totino-Grace at 3pm on Saturday at the StarDome for Super Soccer Saturday.
Volleyball
The AHA volleyball hot streak continued this week, as the team is now 12-0 on the season. Coming in to the week ranked #5 in class 3A, the team took care of business, beating Bloomington Kennedy and Visitation. The girls have two games in the upcoming week, against rivals DeLaSalle at AHA at 7pm Tuesday and an away game against Columbia Heights at 6pm Thursday.
Girls Tennis
Girls tennis is still on a tear, now 9-0 and looking sharp. They won their matches against St. Louis Park, Columbia Heights, Roosevelt, and St. Anthony Village. The St. Louis Park match is especially significant since it has been many years since the AHA girls tennis has beaten St. Louis Park. This week is quite important because this is the last week of regular season games for girls tennis. On Monday they start off the week on the road against Southwest Christian at 4pm. On Tuesday, DeLaSalle comes to play girls tennis at Valley View Park at 4pm. The girls are then back on Thursday at 4pm, after a day off on Wednesday, where they play their rival Visitation on Senior Night where they may become conference champions. And Friday, they close the regular season at Valley View Park where they’ll be playing Minnehaha Academy at 4pm. Make sure to come out and support the senior girls tennis players this week!
Cross Country
The Cross Country schedule has been looking a little quiet as of late, but this has allowed them to add some more miles to their legs and get loose for their meet this Thursday. They will be participating in the Osseo Cross Country Invite, at Elm Creek Park Reserve in Maple Grove. Both boys and girls will be competing with varsity girls beginning at 5:05pm and boys starting at 5:35pm. Make sure to wish them luck in the hallways!
Girls Swim & Dive
The Girls Swim & Dive team had a very successful week. They had a meet against Bloomington Kennedy which they won with a score of 95-88. Their next meet will be Thursday where they will be competing against Columbia Heights at Columbia Heights High School at 5:30pm. Make sure to wish these swimmers and divers luck in the hallways!
