Football

Another great week for AHA football, as they defeated St. Louis Park 34-8 away from home on a cold Friday night. Quarterback Aaron “AJ” Boarman ‘23 had another great game, with 162 yards and 2 touchdowns in the air, as well as another 78 yards on the ground. Up next for the stars is a game against Chanhassen at Chanhassen High School on Thursday at 7 pm. Be sure to be there to support the team!

Boys Soccer

AHA boys soccer had a bounce back week, winning games against Fridley and Bloomington Kennedy with a combined goal difference of 14-1. After winning these final two regular season games, the team finishes with a record of 9-5-1. The boys will be hungry to make a playoff run this year, however the schedule for playoffs has not yet been finalized.

Girls Soccer

Another dominant regular season in the books for girls soccer, as they won 10-0 against Fridley and lost a tough game against Minneapolis Southwest to end off the season. The girls finished the season with an impressive 14-2 record, and they are ready to make another stab at that elusive state title. As with the boys, at the time of writing, playoff schedules have not yet been released.

Volleyball

AHA volleyball was laid-back last week. They played one game last Tuesday against Fridley, where they beat them in three sets. They’ve had ample time to practice their skills and work on their team chemistry, which should help them as they play this week. They start this week’s play on Tuesday when they play New Prague in the AHA gym at 7pm. The girls are also participating in an eight-team tournament this Saturday at 9am over at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Go support our STARS if you can!

Girls Tennis

AHA girls tennis officially concluded their season last week after their loss in their section matchup against Burnsville, but as the season finishes up, let us look back at some of the girls’ biggest accomplishments this season. The squad went undefeated during the regular season, also beating Visitation for the first time in several years. They also defeated Fridley last Monday to become Tri-Metro Conference Champions. In addition to that, they won their first section matchup against Minneapolis Southwest. So, the girls had a great season even though they took the tough loss to Burnsville. They also still have individuals from the team who are competing in individual sections this week. Those individuals are Meredith Diehl ‘23, Sydney Schnell ‘23, Gabby Bartfield ‘24, Aislin Lacher ‘24, Samantha Goedde ‘25, and Shelby Schnell ‘26. Great job to everyone who participated in girls tennis this season!

Cross Country

The AHA cross country team’s season is quickly coming to an end as they participate in their last regular season meet this Tuesday at 4pm at Jordan High School. After this meet, they will prepare both physically and mentally for their conference meet on October 18th and their section meet on October 27th. It will be a draining couple of weeks for our runners, so let’s make sure we wish them luck!

Girls Swim & Dive

The AHA/Richfield girls swim & dive co-op had an unfortunate outing last week, losing to Visitation’s swim & dive team. Even with that loss, they’re keeping a positive attitude and are looking forward to this week’s meet on Thursday against Minneapolis South at the Phillips Community Center at 5:30pm. Also, the girls are excited for their annual 100x100s fundraising event this Saturday at the Richfield Middle School Pool. Make sure to go support these girls at their meet on Thursday and hang out with the team at their fundraising event this weekend!
